Botanical Polymerized Tung Oil Sealer

From $71.95

An environmentally friendly option for a hand rubbed, tung oil wood finish for interior use.

We recommend using the Botanical Polymerized Tung Oil Sealer when working with stains, on oily/exotic woods, timber frames, or on vertical surfaces where minimal sheen is desired. It is NOT an essential base coat for most projects using the other Botanical Lustres and may slow down build on porous woods. General Project Instructions found HERE.

Looking for larger quantities? We offer 5 Gallon Pails made to order at a 15% discount off the gallon price. Please call us at 1-800-322-1245 to order.

Not sure about the aesthetic or sheen of this particular finish?

Wet the wood with odorless mineral spirits. Our polymerized tung oil finishes make the wood look wet. For sheen testing, 4oz Sample sizes of our Botanical HIGH Lustre are available for purchase. They can be diluted with Di-Citrusol™ (or odorless mineral spirits) to create a small sample board to test for build and sheen. 1 Part Di-Citrusol™ to 1 Part Botanical HIGH will make the SEALER.

Description

Our Botanical Polymerized Tung Oil Sealer is formulated as a penetrating base coat made with our Polymerized Tung Oil to condition your wood in preparation for finish.

Our Botanical Polymerized Tung Oil Sealer can also be added to any of our Old World Concentrated Stains to lower the color saturation of the stain.

Our Botanical Polymerized Tung Oil Sealer can also be used on rough-hewn timbers and mantles to enhance the grain and color of the wood without creating a “finished look”. Perfect for interior timber frames applications as a beam dressing.  Can be used on green wood beams.
