An environmentally friendly option for a hand rubbed, polymerized tung oil wood finish for interior use.
Our Botanical line uses the same polymerization process as all of our Tung Oil wood finishes, however the solvent used is our proprietary, all botanical, citrus based solvent, DiCitrusol™. This formulation contains no petroleum based solvents and is a low VOC product.

Wet the wood with odorless mineral spirits. Our polymerized tung oil finishes make the wood look wet. For sheen testing, 4oz Sample sizes of our Botanical HIGH Lustre are available for purchase. They can be diluted with Di-Citrusol™. (or odorless mineral spirits) to create a small sample board to test for build and sheen. 1 Part Di-Citrusol™. to 2 Parts Botanical HIGH will make the Low Lustre.
Sutherland Welles Ltd.® Botanical Polymerized Tung Oil Low Lustre is the perfect choice when a very low sheen is desired on an interior project.
For most wood species, four coats creates a low lustre finish. Sutherland Welles Ltd.® Botanical Polymerized Tung Oil Low Lustre does not contain flattening agents. The sheen is controlled through application of coats for protection, the amount of polymerized tung oil in each luster creates the sheen.
